J.J. Denton - Poor We Africans 7'' [198x Volcano Original Pressing]
After copping this album, for the longest time I thought Denton was just a guy singing with a more falsetto style. Later I picked up the Slicker Country Boy 7'' and realized Denton was a woman! Either way it doesn't seem that she recorded much, making her ambiguous name even less remote. This record is also from the end of days for the Volcano label, with Junjo Lawes not really involved anymore in the late 80's. Most of his big hits, of course, coming in the beginning of the dancehall era with artists like Barrington Levy, Cocoa Tea, and Little John.

Much more clearly a feminine vocalist here haha...
